About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Research and provide teachers with information, resources, guidance, and content knowledge regarding effective and innovative math instructional practices
Support teachers by introducing teaching strategies, assessment techniques, results interpretation, and resource materials
Conduct one-to-one discussions and coaching sessions
Demonstrate lessons with pre- and post-discussion analysis
Conduct study groups and participate in staff meetings and professional development
Coordinate and facilitate pilots of instructional materials and software implementations
Monitor student progress through K12 interactive lessons and daily assessments
Coordinate and facilitate reading intervention initiatives for students in grades K-5
Collect and review work samples
Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
Maintain confidentiality of school, teachers, and classrooms
Travel for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school events

Requirements

What you’ll need

Tennessee Middle School English Teaching Certification required
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field of study
Five years of teaching experience
Two years of successful coaching or mentoring experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Pedagogical knowledge of math content and ability to apply critical thinking
Knowledge of state content standards and ability to align them with the K12 curriculum
Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
Ability to problem solve independently and maintain a high level of organization
Ability to manage interdependent deadlines across multiple projects
Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday
Ability to travel as required, approximately 25% of the time
Access to reliable high-speed internet
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional development hours
Fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
Ability to clear a required background check
Master’s degree in Education desired
