Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply user-centered design methodology to create solutions for education-related applications
  • Lead a team of UX Designers and supervise designers
  • Conduct user research and translate user goals into interactive user experiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners and developers
  • Provide recommendations based on usability testing results
  • Ensure design solutions adhere to governance and compliance requirements, including student data privacy
  • Participate in planning sessions and maintain product roadmaps
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in user experience design, human-computer interaction, product design, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in planning and executing successful web applications
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Experience solving complex design problems for Web interactions or software solutions
  • Solid understanding of innovative graphical user interface design, information design, and interactive design
  • Ability to craft visual representations of large systems, complex relationships, data and task flows
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and responsive design or mobile applications
  • Excellent written, oral and diagrammatic communication skills
  • Adept with relevant design and information flow software, such as Sketch or Axure
  • Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG 2.0) (desired)
  • HTML and CSS coding experience (desired)
  • Experience working with geographically-dispersed teams (desired)
