About the role

  • Ensure all assigned services are provided as determined by the IEP team by: Communicating with parents and teachers to develop a schedule that encourages regular attendance and participation by the student
  • Developing progress reports and other state-specific required special education documentation
  • Maintain compliance with state, school, and company regulations
  • Provides students with individual treatment and group therapy sessions to correct specific areas of sensory-motor integrative dysfunction
  • Administers online occupational therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and the activities of daily living.
  • Maintaining progress records; participates in the IEP meeting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in public school environment as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Occupational Therapist licensure in at least one state
  • Ability to work independently, with availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week is required
  • Experience teaching in an online/virtual environment
  • Strong familiarity with assistive technology
  • An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
  • Ability to clear required background check.
