About the role
- Ensure all assigned services are provided as determined by the IEP team by: Communicating with parents and teachers to develop a schedule that encourages regular attendance and participation by the student
- Developing progress reports and other state-specific required special education documentation
- Maintain compliance with state, school, and company regulations
- Provides students with individual treatment and group therapy sessions to correct specific areas of sensory-motor integrative dysfunction
- Administers online occupational therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and the activities of daily living.
- Maintaining progress records; participates in the IEP meeting.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in public school environment as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Occupational Therapist licensure in at least one state
- Ability to work independently, with availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week is required
- Experience teaching in an online/virtual environment
- Strong familiarity with assistive technology
- An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
- Ability to clear required background check.
