About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Help manage a fast-paced and dynamic part of the business.
  • Administration of client work focusing on data analysis and resolution of matters relating to Demand Letters or Complaints.
  • Manage a case load personally, ensuring group responsibilities are completed effectively.
  • Interact with clients and assist partner counsel in connection with settlement negotiations.
  • Obtain and manage data, analyze data/defense analyses, and prepare independent data analyses in response.
  • Respond to communications, maintain case trackers, and implement template responses.
  • Manage preparation and distribution of Demand Letters and filing of Summonses and Complaints.
  • Support partner counsel in settlement negotiations and report on developments in assigned cases.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree. JD, MBA or CPA a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a bankruptcy paralegal, bankruptcy attorney, consultant, with experience in bankruptcy matters.
  • Strong knowledge of bankruptcy law.
  • Strong Data Management and analytical skills. Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience in managing, prosecuting, or defending preference actions.
  • Familiarity with statutory defenses to a preference action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
