About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Leading and developing a growing team of accountants
- Managing a portfolio of limited company, partnership and sole trader clients
- Reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive advice throughout the year
- Managing workflow, deadlines and team capacity
- Supporting, mentoring and developing junior team members
- Reviewing work and ensuring high technical standards are maintained
- Building long-term relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to add value
- Working closely with the Directors on practice development and continuous improvement
- Supporting the continued growth and success of the Bristol office
Requirements
What you’ll need- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent Chartered qualification)
- Minimum 7 years' recent experience working within UK accountancy practice
- Previous management experience leading or supervising an accounts team
- Strong knowledge of UK accounts preparation and taxation
- Strong knowledge of FRS 102 + 105
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive approach with a genuine desire to help clients succeed
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Desirable Experience using TaxCalc
- Experience using Xero and cloud accounting technologies
