Own PostgreSQL as a production system at Stream
Diagnose and resolve performance issues
Own the operational characteristics of Postgres fleet
Work on sharding, partitioning, and architectural decisions
Set standards for running Postgres
Collaborate closely with application engineers

Deep PostgreSQL expertise
Production ownership at scale
Self-managed databases
Sharding and scaling
An engineering mindset
Judgement alongside AI tooling
Multi-tenant database experience (Strong Plus)
Experience pushing PostgreSQL beyond conventional relational use (Strong Plus)
Messaging, social, or other high-write, event-heavy storage backgrounds (Strong Plus)
Connection pooling, logical replication / CDC, or Postgres-compatible distributed SQL (Strong Plus)
Open source contributions to database or infrastructure tooling (Strong Plus)
