About the role
- Own Android on the Subscriptions team — set the technical direction and ship features that reach millions of athletes
- Accelerate Strava’s Subscription growth through lifecycle experimentation on upsells, checkout and more
- Maintain and advance our Google Play Billing integration, ensuring business-critical flows are stable and consistent
- Work closely with product and design to ship polished features in small, deliberate increments
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming, and set the bar for Android quality across the company
- Use the latest AI tools to find faster, smarter ways to build and ship software
Requirements
- Are a strong Kotlin engineer with production Android experience; familiarity with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Room is a plus
- Are familiar with Android Studio, emulation, and have experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs
- Stay up to date and experiment with the latest Android technologies — from new Jetpack libraries to evolving Kotlin features and Material 3
- Have a product-focused mindset. Our team works together to deliver projects that use technology to solve real business problems.
- Enjoy working on mobile apps at all levels – from networking up to user interfaces and everything in between.
- Have experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques.
- Can collaborate with our iOS, Android, and Server engineers in order to ship features.
