About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead product-focused engineering teams delivering against the Stratus roadmap
Bring engineering and AI capability together to ship customer-dependent solutions
Own engineering delivery and what ships
Lead PODs building solutions customers notice and rely on
Set delivery cadence, clear obstacles, and maintain quality standards
Engage directly with fabrication-shop customers through product conversations and workflow-grounded design reviews
Stay involved when production issues reach customers
Translate real workflow problems into durable product solutions with Product and users
Apply engineering judgment to feature, architecture, and simplification decisions
Partner with the CTO and engineering leadership on Azure, MongoDB Atlas, and agentic-surface platform decisions
Build an AI-forward engineering culture across design, development, and production deployment
Improve CI/CD, code review culture, observability, and incident learning
Partner with Product, Data, and Customer Success on cross-functional delivery
Bring customer and field insights back into engineering practices
Report to the CTO and collaborate with Directors, Senior Directors, Product, and GTM leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

10 or more years in software engineering
5 or more years in engineering leadership at a SaaS product company
Direct experience building and shipping AI-enabled products customers depend on in production
Experience keeping AI reliable in production
Experience making build-versus-buy decisions
Cloud-native SaaS architecture experience
Azure experience preferred
Comfortable in C# or .NET
MongoDB or document database experience is a plus
Experience in a fast-growing customer environment where bad releases had real consequences
Experience developing a team to higher impact without losing existing strengths
Experience hiring at least one exceptional employee and explaining the hiring rationale
Customer and product orientation
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with distributed and cross-functional teams
MEP, fabrication, or construction technology experience is a strong plus
Experience with Autodesk or similar is nice to have
Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or field operations software is nice to have
Hands-on experience with LangGraph, MCP, or agentic orchestration frameworks is nice to have
Eligibility to work in the U.S. is verified after hire through E-Verify
