About the role
- Define Stratus's design vision that differentiates us in the construction technology market
- Establish design strategy that drives customer acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Build design culture from scratch, educating the organization on design's strategic value
- Position design as a business driver , not just a feature factory—connecting UX improvements to ARR growth, operational efficiency, and competitive positioning
- Partner with leadership to integrate design thinking into business strategy and product roadmap
- Lead design reviews with stakeholders, articulating design decisions in business terms
- Develop deep expertise in construction workflows, MEP contractor needs, and industry pain points
- Design critical user experiences for complex B2B workflows spanning desktop, tablet, and mobile contexts
- Create high-fidelity prototypes that communicate vision and facilitate stakeholder alignment
Requirements
- 7+ years in product design including end-to-end ownership of complex B2B or technical software experiences.
- Proven track record of establishing design culture at early-stage or design-immature organizations
- Deep experience designing complex B2B SaaS platforms, ideally for technical or industrial users
- Understanding of enterprise software requirements including permissions, data governance, and multi-user workflows
- Mobile-first responsive design for field workers with varying technical comfort levels
- Stakeholder management across Product, Engineering, Sales, and executive teams
- Clear communication that translates user insights into business strategy and technical requirements
- Tool expertise in Figma, including advanced prototyping, design tokens, and team collaboration
- Design operations experience scaling design across multiple products and stakeholders.
- Technical understanding of APIs, databases, or front-end development.
