About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure a stable and secure IT operation of the infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization)
- Continuous system updates and patch management
- Provide second-level support for complex incidents
- Perform structured root cause analyses and implement sustainable solutions
- Automate recurring tasks, for example using PowerShell
- Document configurations, standards and processes
- Implement IT security and compliance requirements
- Manage system vulnerabilities and administer access control concepts
- Participate in infrastructure projects, e.g. Exchange/M365 migrations and storage updates
- Support strategic architecture decisions
- Manage certificates and certification authorities (PKI)
- Issue and integrate certificates into systems and proactively monitor their expiration dates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant professional experience operating Windows infrastructures
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory/Azure AD, DNS/DHCP and GPOs
- Strong knowledge of virtualization, e.g. VMware
- Knowledge of storage systems
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring
- Proficient in automation and scripting with PowerShell
- Experienced with ticketing and ITSM systems (Incident/Change/Problem)
- Sense of responsibility and service orientation
- Calm, solution-oriented and reliable behavior in critical situations
- Team player with clear communication
- Ability to explain complex issues clearly and work in a structured way
- Business-fluent German and good English
- Preferred: M365/Exchange certifications
- Preferred: experience with endpoint management, e.g. Intune and ACMP
- Preferred: experience with email security gateways
- Preferred: experience with backup solutions, e.g. Synology
- Preferred: basic Linux knowledge
