About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and oversee all accounting activities in accordance with commercial and tax law requirements, working closely with executive management, tax advisors and auditors
- Serve as the central contact for all internal and external tax-related matters at national and international level
- Prepare, monitor and analyze financial plans, budgets and forecasts and derive well-founded recommendations for action
- Actively contribute to the development of corporate objectives and strategic direction
- Responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements and electronic tax balance sheets (E-Bilanz) for the entire corporate group
- Execute day-to-day operational tasks and prepare, analyze and comment on group reporting
- Coordinate financial and business issues related to subsidiaries and handle intercompany settlements
- Provide technical, disciplinary and organizational leadership and continuously develop the Accounting and Controlling teams
- Independently take on and carry out special financial/business projects within the department
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of professional experience in accounting and controlling as well as in people management
- Experience with annual financial statements under commercial and tax law, preferably also with international statements (EU and Switzerland)
- Completed degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., Certified Balance Sheet Accountant/Financial Accountant, Controller with strong accounting proficiency)
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of understanding of complex interrelationships
- Confident presence, facilitation/moderation skills and enjoyment of working independently, precisely and in a structured manner
