About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administration, development and optimization of the data warehouse (DWH), in particular ETL processes using PL/SQL or other tools/languages, as well as the design and maintenance of dimensions, facts and hierarchies
  • Development of views and aggregations
  • Normalization and denormalization of data models
  • Coordination and documentation with business units regarding DWH development
  • Validation of data quality and consistency, as well as data cleansing
  • Creation of test cases and execution of tests in the DWH context
  • Execution of ad-hoc database queries (source systems and DWH) and provision of data for BI tools
  • Special tasks related to data assigned by the IT Data Management department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, mathematics, natural sciences, economics or an engineering discipline with a focus on data processing is desirable, or equivalent skills and experience
  • Ideally, demonstrable experience in data modeling and database design
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and experience implementing complex ETL processes (knowledge of PL/SQL is an advantage)
  • Proven experience with common BI tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Strong analytical thinking and a systematic, solution-oriented working style
  • High degree of independence, diligence and quality awareness
  • Very good communication skills and fluent written and spoken German
