About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly or quarterly journal entries and financial statements for client companies.
  • Manage the financial and regulatory affairs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies, including risk retention groups.
  • Take on more complicated accounts and expand review responsibilities for work completed by more junior staff.
  • Assist with statutory financial accounting statements and NAIC reporting for risk retention groups and commercial insurance company clients.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports required by domicile regulators accurately and on time.
  • Assist with client, service provider, and regulator communications, including video meetings, phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Accounting degree required.
  • 4-7 years of financial accounting experience.
  • Comprehensive and current technical knowledge and practical experience in insurance accounting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.
  • Self-driven work style with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment where time management and prioritization are essential.
