Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll tax filing and notice resolution, providing guidance to clients and internal teams.
Research compliance and regulatory issues; ensure timely and accurate responses to tax agencies.
Manage and support payroll tax notice resolution, including root cause analysis, penalty and interest calculations, abatement requests, and prevention measures.
Support onboarding and implementation of new clients, including testing and validation of system interfaces.
Collaborate with Operations Managers on reporting, metrics, and delivery performance; identify and communicate process improvements.
Oversee and manage relationships with tax filing suppliers to ensure service quality and compliance.
Compile, analyze, and report tax filing metrics; monitor variance analysis and escalate issues when needed.
Approve and manage work checklist queues to maintain accuracy and timeliness of filings.
Mentor colleagues and share expertise to strengthen team capability.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal partners on tax operations, issue resolution, and compliance updates.
Perform under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll tax filing
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros)
Experience with payroll tax filing software (3+ years)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
