About the role
- Develop and maintain labor models to forecast staffing needs, optimize schedules, and balance workload across warehouses and fulfillment centers.
- Analyze labor productivity, capacity utilization, overtime, and staffing costs to identify gaps and drive efficiency improvements.
- Partner with operations and HR to implement workforce optimization strategies that align labor capacity with business demand.
- Design and build the supply chain analytics framework, developing KPIs and dashboards that provide visibility into labor productivity, fulfillment performance, inventory health, transportation efficiency, and customer experience.
- Develop automated auditing and monitoring tools to identify labor cost inefficiencies, margin leakage, productivity gaps, and service risks across warehousing, transportation, and inventory operations.
- Analyze inventory flow, demand patterns, capacity utilization, and network performance to improve service levels, reduce carrying costs, and increase throughput, including the impact on labor requirements.
- Partner with technology and operations teams to define labor-related data requirements, improve system integrations, and build a scalable analytics roadmap across WMS, TMS, OMS, ERP, and workforce management systems.
- Apply predictive modeling, regression analysis, segmentation, and forecasting techniques to optimize labor planning, identify performance drivers, and inform operational strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline).
- 8+ years of experience leading analytics projects with a focus on labor planning, workforce optimization, or operational efficiency, preferably in retail, ecommerce, or supply chain environments.
- Experience leveraging AI tools or analytical frameworks to develop decision-support solutions for workforce or operational planning.
- Strong SQL expertise, with the ability to build datasets and perform complex queries across multiple systems.
- Hands-on experience with R, Python, or similar programming languages for building scalable data models and analytics solutions.
- Experience structuring, cleaning, and visualizing data from WMS, TMS, OMS, ERP, or workforce management systems.
- Experience applying advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling, regression analysis, forecasting, and trend segmentation, specifically for labor or operational planning.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, fulfillment, and labor management concepts, including inventory management, capacity planning, workforce scheduling, service level metrics, and cost-to-serve analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership and writing formal reports or white papers.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and advanced Excel.
