About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Gather, interpret, and use complex data to develop actionable steps that improve processes and optimize results
Provide quality analysis to support business partners and organizational stakeholders in decision-making
Perform necessary transactional processing in the assigned area
Perform account analysis, accruals, reconciliation, and reporting to support accounting cycles and business requirements
Handle queries from internal and external counterparts and customers
Ensure appropriate internal controls comply with Stolt-Nielsen policies and procedures, IFRS or applicable GAAP, and relevant government or regulatory authorities
Develop and recommend new reports according to customer information needs
Support external and internal audits
Ensure audit-worthiness of assigned accounts, reports, and responsibilities
Assist during regular internal and external audits

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
At least 4 years combined working experience in Financial and Management Reporting and General Accounting
External auditing experience is a plus
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
Adept understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with General Ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Accuracy and attention to details
Aptitude for numbers and qualitative skills
Good team player
Intermediate English communication skills, both written and oral
Practical knowledge of ERP applications; Oracle and HFM experience is a plus
Intermediate Excel skill
Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
