About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct assessments measuring conformity to regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards
  • Observe food preparation and cooking standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation
  • Partner with clients to identify root causes of discrepancies and develop corrective action plans
  • Teach and coach clients on creating safer and healthier workplaces
  • Conduct audits and inspections
  • Implement and monitor food safety programs
  • Train and educate staff
  • Investigate food safety incidents
  • Ensure compliance with regulations
  • Maintain documentation and records
  • Travel 50%-70%, or 8-10 days per month, including some evening and weekend work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meet the requirements to obtain a CP-FS certification
  • Available Monday-Friday, Saturdays, and evenings as needed
  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence
  • Licenses/certificates required by federal, state, and/or local regulations
  • Strong knowledge of food safety preferred
  • ServSafe and/or CP-FS certifications are a plus
  • Excellent listening, organization, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to influence others with tact and skill
  • Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback positively
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work based on urgency, efficiency, and other factors
  • Strong technical knowledge of food safety preferred
