About the role
- Lead and scale design function and set vision for how design drives product experience
- Deliver rich, intuitive best-in-class experiences for students, instructors, and coaches
- Partner with leadership across product, engineering, and marketing to drive business outcomes
- Own and lead a core vertical alongside PM counterpart and oversee other squads
- Recruit, develop, and retain top design talent
- Manage and coach designers, creating clear-growth paths
- Establish principles, systems, and processes for design excellence
- Shape product vision and identify cross-functional opportunities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, growth, and ops leadership
- Oversee strategic roadmap for design and research
- Implement and evolve the design system to ensure consistency and efficiency
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience across a variety of platforms, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role
- Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates design excellence and impact
- A deep understanding of the tech that powers digital products, and how to collaborate with engineering to make the most of emerging capabilities
- Ability to move fluidly between vision, strategy, and hands-on execution
- Exceptional communicator with experience building relationships with teammates and influencing decisions at a variety of levels and across multiple teams
