About the role

  • Run Status social channels (X, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Farcaster, etc.): posting, listening, engaging, and learning from the community
  • Share real content — memes, videos, hot takes, threads, deep dives; celebrate ecosystem wins and amplify builders and contributors
  • Bring crypto Twitter and meme culture into comms; create and remix meme images, GIFs, and short videos
  • Social listening, trend spotting, and reporting: monitor crypto and Web2 channels, proactively propose ad-hoc and reactive comms
  • Work with Program Lead to define social media strategy aligned to product strategy and roadmap
  • Content production and distribution: prepare release comms, blog posts, visuals; plan and execute event-based campaigns and partner collaborations
  • Manage in-app Status news feeds and collaborate with the Status Community Manager to drive conversations

Requirements

  • Experience working in start-ups and comfortable with fast-paced, adaptable nature
  • Spent time in web3, crypto, or privacy spaces as an active participant (open source contributions, dev community activity, small projects, etc.)
  • Know your way around social platforms — especially Reddit and long-form X threads
  • Write like you talk — clearly, passionately, without buzzwords
  • Able to create or edit images/videos at a 'good enough' authentic level
  • Organized but flexible — can plan a content calendar and jump on urgent opportunities
  • Comfortable working asynchronously, remotely, and without constant oversight
  • Curious and always learning about tech, privacy, and decentralization
  • Believe in open source as a way of building power together
  • Located in the European time zone or close to it
