About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Inside Sales Lead serves as a working leader for the Inside Sales team, balancing individual sales responsibilities with day-to-day guidance and support of team members.
  • This role provides coaching, training, and operational oversight to ensure exceptional customer service, achievement of sales objectives, and adherence to established processes.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and liaison between the Inside Sales team and leadership, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare weekly action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  • Make a minimum of 25 unique calls per day.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from call activity.
  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients via phone.
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
  • Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
  • Complete a task and call log daily to include contacts title, phone number, product discussion and next steps.
  • Meet or exceed established monthly Sales Goals on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Answer quick product, pricing, or process questions from reps.
  • Run Call Review Workshop Calls and ISR Development calls
  • Assist with onboarding and mentoring new hires
  • Relay updates from ISM to the team
  • Ensure inside sales reps follow sales process and CRM hygiene
  • Help test new scripts or campaigns
  • Support team collaboration
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts via phone.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Prepare a variety of weekly status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees, as needed.
  • Demonstrate independent thinking and initiative on a consistent and regular basis.
  • Follow all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
  • Actively demonstrate teamwork at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in inside sales or telemarking selling multiple products, not services. Three more years may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience working from a database, from a list of multiple customers and prospects, is mandatory.
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Skilled in use of computer and software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor 9.
  • Fluently speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and policy instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to speak persuasively over the phone.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, freight, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking; bending; pushing; pulling; sitting for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer, phone and headset; and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds .
