About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the design, development, and maintenance of backend services in Kotlin, PHP, and Python to support user data flows.
Design and optimize scalable event-driven architectures and pipelines connecting internal systems with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and downstream marketing channels.
Develop reliable, high-performance processes for collecting, transforming, and activating user data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for campaigns and analytics.
Lead technical design decisions, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices across the team.
Collaborate closely with marketing, data, product, and platform teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and observability through monitoring, logging, testing, and proactive improvements.
Champion engineering excellence across the software development lifecycle, including architecture, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and maintenance.
Be open to working across different technologies, including frontend development and monolithic applications, depending on business needs.
Use AI tools in day-to-day software development to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, and Python.
Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
Experience designing scalable backend systems and event-driven architectures.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams.
