About the role

  • Provide supervision, rehabilitation, and support services to offenders under the supervision of the Probation and Parole Division of the Vermont Department of Corrections.
  • Utilize both risk control and risk management services as part of a supervision team of high-risk offender.
  • Work in accordance with correctional policies, directives, and procedures under the supervision of an administrative superior.
  • Communicate effectively to a team the dynamics observed during field contacts.
  • Maintain a professional rapport with local law-enforcement agencies and community partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social service or a related human services field OR Associate's degree AND one (1) year or more of experience in corrections, human services, military service, law enforcement or other related field.
  • OR High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of experience in corrections, human services, military service, law enforcement or other related field.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
  • Prior Corrections, law-enforcement, or military experience preferred.
