About the role
- Support highway maintenance and winter operations in Dummerston.
- Perform a variety of tasks including repairing guardrails, patching pavement, ditching, clearing brush, and picking up litter.
- Play a critical role in plowing and salting during winter weather events.
- Availability for considerable overtime during heavy snowfall or other emergencies.
Requirements
- One (1) year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor INCLUDING EITHER one season of operating a snowplow with wings OR six (6) months of operating medium or heavy equipment, such as graders, excavators, and backhoes.
- A Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation.
- Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement is required within the first six months of employment.
- Must complete all VTTC required coursework within one (1) year or be enrolled.
