About the role
- Lead end-to-end awards management: Oversee award negotiation, agreement review, start-up, compliance frameworks, and closeout processes to ensure strategic alignment and risk mitigation across Country Offices and Support office
- Provide technical authority on compliance and risk: Serve as a key decision-maker in Go/No-Go, portfolio, and closeout reviews, advising on audit readiness, equipment disposition, and high-level compliance risks
- Drive donor and partner compliance standards: Guide Country Offices and partners on donor regulations, oversee due diligence and sub-awards, and maintain up-to-date donor compliance and partnership modalities
- Oversee performance, audits, and KPIs: Monitor global Awards Management KPIs/MIs, ensure audit readiness and policy adherence, and surface critical issues and lessons learned to Senior Management
- Lead systems and data management for awards: Manage NetSuite Awards/Partnership workflows, trackers, and dashboards, ensuring accurate, real-time visibility on awards, modifications, and partnerships
- Strengthen partnerships and localization efforts: Collaborate on donor localization strategies, support partner selection and monitoring, and champion best practices in partnership management and funding oversight
- Build global capacity and provide leadership: Design and deliver capacity-building initiatives, coach CO Awards Leads and SMTs, develop global AM/partnership manuals, and act as deputy to the Global Awards Management Director
- Ensure high-quality reporting and documentation: Maintain organized filing systems, and when requested, review, edit, and submit donor reports and key communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Requirements
- A Master Degree or qualified by experience
- Significant progressive experience in Awards, Grants, Compliance, and partnership management for an international organization, at manager level
- Knowledge and proven strong experience with US, European, Foundations and other international government donors
- Experience tracking award budgets, ensuring donor compliance and timely, accurate spending
- Proven experience with grants management software/databases
- Strong written and spoken English is essential, and experience in English narrative writing
- Ability to work within a newly established department and multi-location team
- Willing to travel up to 20% internationally
- Strong knowledge about internal controls, fraud, investigations, and safeguarding desirable
- Additional languages such as Arabic or French, would be a bonus
