About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize your accounting and auditing skills to audit county governments and other political entities.
- Flexibility with travel and overnight arrangements is essential as travel to audit sites will be required, with overnight stays possible for some audits.
- Selected applicant will not be able to perform auditing work within the same county they reside.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or other business-related field, or a minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting and/or audit environment is necessary.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards.
- Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability and desire to work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preference given to applicants who demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships.
- Strong interest in continued professional development.
