About the role

  • Utilize your accounting and auditing skills to audit county government and other political entities located in the counties listed.
  • Flexibility with travel and overnight arrangements are essential as travel to audit sites will be required and overnight stays possible for some audits.
  • Selected applicant will not be able to perform auditing work within the same county they reside.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or other business-related field, or a minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting and/or audit environment is necessary.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles , generally accepted auditing standards , and Government Auditing Standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Preference given to applicants who demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong interest in continued professional development.
