About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide intermediate-level technical support for planning and production of photogrammetric mapping for functional, preliminary, and final design
- Create digital mission support files, scan film images, plot digital images, and process images
- Provide intermediate-level technical support for calculating construction earthwork pay quantities
- Operate photogrammetric mapping hardware and software to stereoscopically view digital aerial imagery and compile planimetric mapping and terrain elevation data
- Review consultant and in-house planimetric mapping, terrain elevation data, and orthoimagery, identifying discrepancies for engineering staff
- Generate orthoimagery from individual frame imagery using photogrammetric mapping software
- Test new and moderately complex geospatial processes and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressive technician-level experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of professional transportation and geomatics engineering concepts, practices, and theories used in photogrammetry, conventional surveying, LiDAR surveying, GPS surveying, and GIS
- Experience using and operating photogrammetric mapping software and equipment to generate planimetric mapping and terrain elevation data
- Experience reviewing planimetric mapping, terrain elevation data, and orthoimagery and identifying discrepancies for engineering staff
- Experience expressing technical facts and maintaining records and work-specific notes clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner
- Ability to perceive overlapping aerial imagery stereoscopically in three dimensions and interpret planimetric and terrain features relatively correctly
