About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Examine motor fuels tax returns and records to ensure taxpayer compliance
- Conduct audits for IFTA and IRP purposes
- Perform accurate and complete audits of financial books and records
- Maintain an audit plan and prepare and submit audit reports
- Some overnight and out-of-state travel may be required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field with at least twelve semester hours of accounting
- A vehicle and a valid driver's license are required due to the travel requirements for this position.
- Basic knowledge of auditing and accounting principles and practices
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software
- Basic knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Income Tax
