About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • This Administrative position provides the Director of Regional History Museums (DRHM) vital support in the management of the Mountain Gateway Museum.
  • Responsibilities involve overseeing interpretation of and ensuring compliance with, all applicable Local, State, Federal, Departmental, Divisional, and professional regulations;
  • Budget management, inventory control, and purchasing;
  • Supervision of personnel;
  • Security and safety of buildings, staff, and collections;
  • Analyzing and solving technical problems;
  • Recommending formulation or revision of policies and procedures;
  • Advising on allocation of funds and effectiveness of operations;
  • Frequent public contacts and attendance at meetings, and generally, promoting the Mountain Gateway Museum.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in History, Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Management, Education, or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution AND four years of progressively responsible experience in planning, directing, and managing all aspects of a business, governmental program, a museum, or a public historical program or institution; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in dealing with the public in written and verbal form.
  • Experience with budgets and policy/procedures implementation and development.
  • Management experience with staff and/or volunteers.
  • Experience in museums or cultural institution.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
