Key responsibilities & impact

assess and monitor the fiscal health of more than 1,100 local governments in NC
review a proportionate share of the 1,100 audited financial statements of local governmental units
assist with the development of training for NC local officials, auditors

Requirements

What you’ll need

bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or public administration or a related discipline with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework
four years (4) of professional accounting/auditing experience
experience with governmental generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
experience understanding or applying federal and state laws related to financial reporting
knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards
