💰 $41,655 - $50,000 per year

About the role

  • Organizing and representing the North Carolina Zoo at public speaking engagements, priority tours, and other writing or PR assignments as needed
  • Drafts, edits, and publishes web copy, radio ad scripts, and blogs/articles as needed
  • Assists with the implementation and execution of communications team-related activities
  • Represents the organization through effective public speaking and professional presentations
  • Utilizes news media effectively by delivering on-camera interviews, preparing press releases, and leading media escorts/tours

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism, English, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have superior written/verbal communication skills with prior journalistic experience
  • Must be able to work a rotating schedule that involves working weekends, holidays and after regular work shifts
  • Must have personable, on-camera skills required for assigned media and PR events
