About the role
- Conducting tours and programs as part of visitor services
- Giving general on-site and off-site presentations and assisting with special events and programs
- Conducting appropriate artifact management and care techniques
- Assisting with coordinating a volunteer program
- Researching topics
- Operating gift shop and managing gift shop inventory
- Assisting with light maintenance and janitorial duties
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND three years of experience in giving or developing museum tours; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to walk long distances on uneven ground with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be available to work the schedule of Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional night or weekend work as required.
