About the role
- Independently serve as NC Department of Adult Correction (NC DAC) Regional Recruiter to initiate and carry out recruitment initiatives
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate recruitment to certified vacancies within NC DAC
- Recruit for and source qualified candidates
- Work well with Agency Administration, Institutional leadership, Facility Administrators, Community Supervision District Staff and leadership, and other working units and hiring teams within NC DAC
- Plan and facilitate special recruitment hiring events, candidate sourcing and engagement, metrics and reporting
- Collaborating and developing working relationships with colleges and universities along with professional boards, commissions, and/or associations to plan and facilitate recruitment initiatives
- Gathering information for recruitment and retention issues and providing feedback to Central HR
- Participating in and attending NC DAC-specific career and hiring events as well as community job fairs and networking events
- Preparing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and developing and maintaining spreadsheets for applicant and position tracking purposes
- Utilizing advertising, marketing, social media, professional associations, and other sources to promote positions
- Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with applicants, internal and external stakeholders, and management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Experience planning and implementing strategic field recruitment initiatives
- Experience using social media tools and electronic platforms in the recruitment process
- Experience candidate sourcing and/or sourcing candidates through various web-based HR/Recruitment platforms
- Experience recruiting applicants for specific job classifications, such as Correctional Officers, Probation/Parole Officers, and Health Care Services positions
- Experience conducting virtual job fairs or other similar virtual recruitment events
- Bilingual is a plus!
