About the role

  • Independently serve as NC Department of Adult Correction (NC DAC) Regional Recruiter to initiate and carry out recruitment initiatives
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate recruitment to certified vacancies within NC DAC
  • Recruit for and source qualified candidates
  • Work well with Agency Administration, Institutional leadership, Facility Administrators, Community Supervision District Staff and leadership, and other working units and hiring teams within NC DAC
  • Plan and facilitate special recruitment hiring events, candidate sourcing and engagement, metrics and reporting
  • Collaborating and developing working relationships with colleges and universities along with professional boards, commissions, and/or associations to plan and facilitate recruitment initiatives
  • Gathering information for recruitment and retention issues and providing feedback to Central HR
  • Participating in and attending NC DAC-specific career and hiring events as well as community job fairs and networking events
  • Preparing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and developing and maintaining spreadsheets for applicant and position tracking purposes
  • Utilizing advertising, marketing, social media, professional associations, and other sources to promote positions
  • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with applicants, internal and external stakeholders, and management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution
  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Experience planning and implementing strategic field recruitment initiatives
  • Experience using social media tools and electronic platforms in the recruitment process
  • Experience candidate sourcing and/or sourcing candidates through various web-based HR/Recruitment platforms
  • Experience recruiting applicants for specific job classifications, such as Correctional Officers, Probation/Parole Officers, and Health Care Services positions
  • Experience conducting virtual job fairs or other similar virtual recruitment events
  • Bilingual is a plus!
