Requirements

What you’ll need

A Masters Degree, and meet the Maine Department of Education’s requirements for obtaining a School Counselor certification or conditional certificate.
Knowledge of child development, counseling theories, educational systems, and relevant laws.
Skill in counseling, collaboration, communication, assessment, and data analysis.
Ability to foster positive student development, support academic achievement, respond effectively to crises, and build partnerships with families, educators, and community agencies while implementing a comprehensive school counseling program.
