About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for providing oversight, instruction, and development of Quality Assurance with the Survey Program.
- Serves as trainer in cooperation with Surveyor Training Programs.
- Development and organization of training materials as needed for Federal and State mandated training and other training as identified by the State Training Coordinator.
- Provide cross-training with designated staff as assigned by SCSB Manager.
- Represents the Agency at meetings, trainings, and workshops.
- Serves as liaison.
- Provides support to complete mandated workload as needed by conducting surveys statewide.
- Responsible for completing quality assurance reviews of Q-Tools/Imminent Danger deficiencies related to Immediate Jeopardy or Class I deficiencies related to actual/potential harm for Federal and State facilities/providers/suppliers as requested.
- Serves as the Back-up to the Informal Dispute Resolution Process (IDR) or independent Informal Dispute Resolution Process (IIDR) Coordinator.
- Participates as a panelist in an IDR/IIDR.
- Responsible for monitoring Immediate Jeopardy Deficiencies and generating statistical reports as needed for legislative or internal data requests.
- Responsible for implementing corrective action to address inconsistencies identified during quality assurance reviews.
- Review and analyze Federal QA Data such as SPIRIT and SPSS Measure.
- Develop and revise protocols as assigned.
- Complete Statement of Deficiencies (SODs)/ Plan of Correction (POC)/complaint review by the assigned due date and conduct DCF verified complaint QA review at least quarterly as assigned.
- Completes project-based work as assigned including reviewing regulation sets and policies and protocols.
- Other Duties as assigned by the Field Office Manager or Senior Management Analyst II-SES.
- Consistent attendance is vital for individuals in this role, given the daily and time-sensitive nature of the work. Leave requests should be made in advance, except in cases of unforeseen emergencies beyond the employee's control. Must be willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This includes emergency duties but not limited to response to threats involving any disaster, man-made or natural.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four years of health care experience.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field can substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test.
- Proficient in use of ASPEN, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds (laptops computers, manuals, etc.) with or without accommodation.
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
- Ability to conduct fact finding research.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
