About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supports the Florida Department of Health in its mission.
  • Performs specialized nursing care for the TB, Primary Care, and Specialty Care Clinic.
  • Performs 'back-up' duties for Epidemiology and Linkage to Care.
  • Works closely with the Senior Community Health Nursing Director-SES and the physicians.
  • Provides nursing assessment and case management of clients enrolled in the TB, Primary Care, and Specialty Care Clinic.
  • Takes and records medical history, vital signs, and issues prescribed medications under protocol.
  • Documents in the chart, utilizing problem oriented S.O.A.P. method.
  • Teaches healthy lifestyles and provides referral information to clients.
  • Develops Individualized care plans and reviews abnormal lab reports with physicians.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must hold a current, active Florida Registered Nursing license or a multistate license from another Compact State pursuant to Florida Statute 464 Florida Admin code 210-8.22 or 8.27.
  • Valid Driver License
  • Experience using computers to document medical care.
  • Experience in TB and/or HIV.
  • Experience in the immunization clinic.
  • Experience working in a medical office or clinic setting.
