About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise and configure the Finance Section with units to support incident as necessary
- Manage the performance of all financial, administrative, and cost analysis tasks for an incident
- Develop the Finance/ Administration Section’s operating plan
- Create, maintain, and transfer section documentation
- Coordinate with assisting and cooperating agency representatives on finance-related issues
- Develop cost projections for agencies supporting an incident
- Facilitate the procurement of goods and services, to include the issuance of Purchase Orders and Change Orders
- Assist with booking travel accommodations and coordinating travel reimbursements for deployed team members
- Advise the Incident Commander (IC) on financial and administrative matters
- Coordinate and effectively communicate activities with the State Emergency Response Team
- Implement priorities and objectives from State Emergency Response Team Command Staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of administrative processes related to emergency management
- Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Ability to analyze incident costs and optimize financial resources
- Experience in maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with team members, agencies, and stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
- Completion of a National Qualification System (NQS) Type 3 Finance / Administration Section Chief, or equivalent, task book is preferred
