About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs investigation, data entry, and follow-up for the prevention and control of communicable diseases
- Conducts ongoing countywide surveillance activities
- Provides essential analytic and evaluative support to strengthen the surveillance efforts of the Agency
- Follows up on all Electronic Laboratory Reports (ELR) related to healthcare associated infections (HAI)
- Coordinates point prevalence surveys as needed
- Monitors clients and susceptible clients during potentially infectious periods
- Prepares surveillance reports, data summaries, and other written documentation for publication
- Collaborates with infection control practitioners in hospitals and other facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 1 year experience in an office-setting
- Valid Driver's license
- Certification in Infection Control (preferred)
- Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN), BSN, MSN, or APRN (preferred)
- One (1) year of experience working as an Epidemiologist in an applied epidemiology program (preferred)
