About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Performs investigation, data entry, and follow-up for the prevention and control of communicable diseases
  • Conducts ongoing countywide surveillance activities
  • Provides essential analytic and evaluative support to strengthen the surveillance efforts of the Agency
  • Follows up on all Electronic Laboratory Reports (ELR) related to healthcare associated infections (HAI)
  • Coordinates point prevalence surveys as needed
  • Monitors clients and susceptible clients during potentially infectious periods
  • Prepares surveillance reports, data summaries, and other written documentation for publication
  • Collaborates with infection control practitioners in hospitals and other facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 1 year experience in an office-setting
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Certification in Infection Control (preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (preferred)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), BSN, MSN, or APRN (preferred)
  • One (1) year of experience working as an Epidemiologist in an applied epidemiology program (preferred)
