About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Performs investigation, data entry, and follow-up for the prevention and control of communicable diseases
Conducts ongoing countywide surveillance activities
Provides essential analytic and evaluative support to strengthen the surveillance efforts of the Agency
Follows up on all Electronic Laboratory Reports (ELR) related to healthcare associated infections (HAI)
Coordinates point prevalence surveys as needed
Monitors clients and susceptible clients during potentially infectious periods
Prepares surveillance reports, data summaries, and other written documentation for publication
Collaborates with infection control practitioners in hospitals and other facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 1 year experience in an office-setting
Valid Driver's license
Certification in Infection Control (preferred)
Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (preferred)
Registered Nurse (RN), BSN, MSN, or APRN (preferred)
One (1) year of experience working as an Epidemiologist in an applied epidemiology program (preferred)
