About the role

  • Provide technical assistance and develop procedures to assist the Bureau to operate efficiently and effectively, including coordination with the Office of the Medicaid Director and managed health plans, health plan dispute coordination, and managing consultant contracts.
  • Lead, develop, coordinate, and/or execute strategic planning activities for Medicaid managed care programs to implement goals, objectives and priorities.
  • Conduct program training and provide technical assistance related to the managed care programs and contracted Medicaid services to ensure consistency in program operation and conformity with Agency and state and federal laws, rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Represent the Medicaid office on health care related committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned.
  • Assemble, organize, review and evaluate data and information from within the Bureau to identify areas needing policy or system changes or follow up investigations.
  • Support primary oversight of Medicaid’s managed care programs with a focus on ensuring managed care plans meet contractual requirements, timely provision of medically needed services, and provider payment.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years experience auditing and/or managing managed care organization contracts.
  • Two (2) years experience working with Florida Medicaid related programs.
  • Two (2) years experience working independently on special projects.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of health care facilities, operations, and management.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Background screening: must successfully complete State and National criminal history check (fingerprinting through FDLE and FBI) and any applicable local checks prior to employment.
  • Subject to reasonable suspicion drug testing pursuant to Section 112.0455, F.S.
  • This position is not a remote or telework position.
