About the role

  • Providing visitor services and administration skills at Paynes Creek Historic State Park.
  • Explaining facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment, and education.
  • Participating in the execution of all facets of prescribed fire.
  • Maintaining park structures, facilities, equipment, and grounds through routine maintenance practices.
  • Preparing forms and reports on a wide range of subjects including visitation and vehicle usage.
  • Performing routine patrols and security checks ensuring adherence to the Park Protection Plan.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Florida’s natural and cultural resources.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Good public relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and assist in transporting items or other supplies 100 pounds or more.
