About the role
- Completing task analyses and workflow documentation with such goals as to resolve programmatic, administrative, and operational issues;
- Acting as a team leader in the absence of management, allocating resources to maximize productivity and efficiency;
- Creating schedules as needed for queues, phones, and other operational activities;
- Reviewing and processing firearm transactions in the Firearm Eligibility System (FES) queue from licensed firearm dealers to screen potential buyer's eligibility to purchase a firearm;
- Evaluating requests by analyzing criminal justice information in FES in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner and processing transactions in accordance with state and federal law;
- Assessing, analyzing, and making recommendations to resolve issues and problems within the Section/Bureau/Division;
- Contacting local, state, and federal agencies by telephone or written correspondence to obtain information necessary to determine a firearm buyer's eligibility;
- Evaluating workflow cases to ensure quality control of information submitted through CCH workflow.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system
- Knowledge of office and administrative principles and practices
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication
- Knowledge of the FCIC/NCIC, III, CCH, and NICS information systems
- Knowledge of customer service etiquette and ability to apply it effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data, Florida Statutes, Commission Rules, and Divisional Policy and Procedures.
