About the role
- Conducting Cryptocurrency Tracing and documenting findings
- Reviewing the large repository of complaint data
- Researching current and anticipated future technology advances to assess potential impact on the investigation of technology crimes
- Providing training and guidance to employees relevant to computer crime investigations and related topics
- Providing assistance to citizens questions or concerns regarding computer crimes
- Interviewing members of the public (victims, witnesses, and potential targets)
- Participating in interviews conducted by Special Agents
- Working with outside law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies on a regular basis
- Extracting pertinent entries from records examined and preparing concise summary of findings
Requirements
- Four years of experience for Crime Intelligence Analyst I
- Five years of experience for Crime Intelligence Analyst II
- Seven years of analytical experience for Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst I
- Nine years of analytical experience for Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of experience
- A master’s degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline can substitute for one year of experience
- Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in law enforcement can substitute for one year of the required experience
