About the role
- Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, responsible for establishing positive identification of individuals through comparison of fingerprints
- Processing work through the Multi-Biometric Identification Solution (MBIS) system
- Comparing physical fingerprint card impressions against fingerprint images displayed on a MBIS terminal or microfilm reader
- Performing quality control verification on captured fingerprint images via a MBIS terminal by analyzing images for correct classification, accuracy, and legibility
- Performing other related duties as requested by the Director
Requirements
- Knowledge of fingerprint identification, verification, and classification techniques
- Knowledge of the Multi-Biometric Identification Solution (MBIS) system workflows related to tenprint comparisons
- Ability to analyze and interpret fingerprint data
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Must meet NCIC/FCIC Certification requirements within six (6) months of appointment and maintain certification
