About the role
- Provides interpretation of policies and procedures, rules and regulations, revised statutes, and internal guidelines to statewide agency staff and vendors.
- Uses independent judgment while coordinating and advising solutions to complex procurements.
- Works effectively in an independent environment and serves on procurement project teams within the agency, and other state agencies or other governmental entities.
- Analyzes specifications, terms and conditions for formal solicitations.
- Organizes and conducts pre-bid conferences, request for information meetings, and other user meetings.
- Directs and coordinates day-to-day operations of the procurement section.
- Directs staff activities involving competitive solicitations and procurements.
- Reviews procurements to ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience working in procurement
- Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
- Education level to include either a High School diploma, AA or bachelor’s degree
