About the role
- Directs and supervises Structures section in the administration of all in-house staff and consultants.
- Includes preparation and review of plans for simple and complicated bridges and miscellaneous structures.
- Development of plans for damaged bridge repairs and miscellaneous structure modifications during construction.
- Serves as liaison with Federal, State and Local agencies and/or elected officials as required.
- Expedite the development, review, coordination, and approval of all phases of a project to advance the project to implementation.
- Monitor project progress reports and production schedules of structural activities and events to ensure compliance of the district's committed target dates.
- Take action to ensure timely project advancement.
Requirements
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in accordance with Florida Statute 471.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision and management.
- Knowledge of structural engineering and structural theory relating to repairs of bridges.
- Skilled in computer use and Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) for structural design.
- Ability to review work for accuracy and quality of content.
- Ability to solve problems related to structural engineering.
- Ability to read structural plans.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate engineering information effectively.
- Ability to prioritize work load.
- Ability to supervise people.
