About the role

  • Conduct investigations for ensuring employer compliance with the workers’ compensation coverage requirements.
  • Enter and inspect any place of business for purposes of investigating employer compliance.
  • Examine and copy business records.
  • Issue, serve, and enforce stop-work orders and penalty assessment orders.
  • Conduct on-site inspections & complex investigations of various types of businesses.
  • Observe & document activities performed by workers on site.
  • Interview workers to determine their employment status and wages.
  • Create and maintain investigative case files in accordance with established procedures.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of investigative or regulatory experience is required.
  • A post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required work experience.
  • Preference: One (1) or more years of workers' compensation experience.
  • One (1) or more years of experience writing detailed chronological reports.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience conducting face-to-face fact-finding interviews.
  • Bi-lingual with the ability to fluently speak and write Spanish and English.
  • Requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
