About the role
- Conduct investigations for ensuring employer compliance with the workers’ compensation coverage requirements.
- Enter and inspect any place of business for purposes of investigating employer compliance.
- Examine and copy business records.
- Issue, serve, and enforce stop-work orders and penalty assessment orders.
- Conduct on-site inspections & complex investigations of various types of businesses.
- Observe & document activities performed by workers on site.
- Interview workers to determine their employment status and wages.
- Create and maintain investigative case files in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of investigative or regulatory experience is required.
- A post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required work experience.
- Preference: One (1) or more years of workers' compensation experience.
- One (1) or more years of experience writing detailed chronological reports.
- Two (2) or more years of experience conducting face-to-face fact-finding interviews.
- Bi-lingual with the ability to fluently speak and write Spanish and English.
- Requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
