About the role
- Independent work assisting the Chief Legal Counsel in providing analysis and research on a variety of administrative matters
- Serve as the Chief Legal Counsel in the capacity as paralegal
- Act as district liaison for public records requests and subpoenas
- Receive and route telephone calls, answering questions
- Perform legal research and writing as requested
- Maintain court calendars and executive assignment logs
- Manage confidential legal and case files and programmatic records and files
- Process incoming mail, invoices, time sheets, travel, and other administrative tasks
- Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents under the supervision of an attorney
Requirements
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices
- Knowledge of legal terminology
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data
- Ability to prepare correspondence and reports
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently
