About the role

  • Serve as a liaison to the District’s Operations Centers
  • Coordinate Maintenance Contract Administration efforts
  • Perform Quality Control checks of the District’s Maintenance Contract Administration activities
  • Assist in the management of the District Contract Maintenance program
  • Coordinate and provide direction, support, and training to the contract staff
  • Review Asset Maintenance contract evaluations for adherence to approved quality assurance plans
  • Conduct quality assurance field reviews to ensure fulfillment of contractual commitments
  • Participate in statewide contract meetings and address issues
  • Advise higher-level district and/or Central Office managers on contract administrative issues
  • Prepare Encumbrance requests and enter into processing systems
  • Research and check contract balance issues in specified systems
  • Respond to Five Year Certified Forward Report and other outstanding reports
  • Assist in the management of the District Maintenance Electronic Data Management System

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Certificate of High School equivalency
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, principles and terminology
  • Knowledge of construction plans, contract specifications and contract administration
  • Knowledge of roadway construction and maintenance contracting procedures
  • Skills in using engineering tools, equipment and/or instruments
  • Skills in conflict resolution
  • Skills in reviewing, analyzing and negotiating contracts
  • Skills in processing contractor/vendor payments through various computer applications
  • Ability to monitor and inspect engineering projects
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze data
  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
