About the role

  • Assist with audits, investigations, management reviews, and consulting services for the Department.
  • Perform a wide variety of administrative duties to facilitate daily operations of the OIG.
  • Work independently on assignments delegated by the Inspector General (IG) and Director of Internal Audit (DIA).
  • Travel while performing the duties of this position.
  • Ensure retailers and players are aware of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program.
  • Coordinate staffing needs to ensure coverage of the IG office during normal operating hours.
  • Coordinate administrative activities for the IG and DIA and maintain office supply inventories.
  • Reserve conference/meeting rooms and equipment.
  • Assist in receptionist duties and answer telephones for the work unit.
  • Retrieve, review, and prioritize the IG’s mail.
  • Accept and document allegations and complaints of fraud or misconduct.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required
  • Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required
  • Knowledge of basic administrative and office principles, techniques, and practices
  • Ability to understand statutes, rules, regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to the Department’s operations.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, including the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work conditions.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, and document workflow.
  • Ability to coordinate travel and travel as needed.
