About the role
- Conduct investigations for the purpose of ensuring employer compliance with the workers’ compensation coverage requirements.
- Enter and inspect any place of business at any reasonable time for purposes of investigating employer compliance.
- Examine and copy business records.
- Issue, serve and enforce stop-work orders, penalty assessment orders, and any other orders required under law.
- Conduct on-site inspections & complex investigations of various types of businesses to determine compliance and assess penalties.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of investigative or regulatory experience is required.
- A post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
- One (1) or more years of workers' compensation experience.
- One (1) or more years of experience writing detailed chronological reports.
- Two (2) or more years of experience conducting face-to-face fact-finding interviews.
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
- Bilingual with the ability to fluently speak and write Spanish and English.
